Overview

These pages document the prototypes in this folder. Each prototype shows one system working at a small scale, built on the RAMTT design system and the browser's own Web Crypto and WebAuthn.

The three sizes

A small prototype runs in one page and needs no server. P1 to P5 are small.

A medium prototype stores data on a server and runs one flow from start to finish. P6 to P11 are medium. A large prototype runs a whole product for a team, such as sync between devices or a shared vault. P12 to P15 are large. Their server is one Cloudflare Worker with a Durable Object that keeps its data in SQLite.

Where the prototypes run

Locally, wrangler dev runs the Worker on port 8951, and it serves every page. The deployed copy is at malte-prototypes.malte-dc7.workers.dev, closed behind a login until launch.

What every prototype follows

Every control, row and page is a component of the design system on one of its eight page templates. Each page passes the design system's lint and its measured check in Chromium, and a set of browser checks drives each prototype with a real mouse and keyboard.

Next: Encrypted messages (P1).

How Prototype docs is built

The pages are written in Markdown and built into these pages and an index of 154 sections. The assistant answers from the index, and every answer names the sections it was taken from.
