Removing someone gives the whole workspace a new key: the writing, the plan, the notes and the chat move to new documents. They keep what they have and cannot read what is written after.

Asking the chat who is in the workspace.

How Zibaldone is built
  1. The workspace opens the writing, the plan, the notes and the chat of P23 to P26 in one window. Each tool keeps its own encrypted document on P14’s relay, and all four are made from the one key in the link, so the link opens the whole workspace without an account.
  2. In the writing, Discuss opens the chat with the paragraph under the caret attached, and Make a task adds the paragraph to the plan as a task that keeps the words it came from.
  3. A task made from a paragraph has Open the document, which goes back to the writing. A note has Discuss, which opens the chat with the note attached.
  4. The tools talk to the workspace with postMessage, and each message is checked to come from the same site.
  5. Members lists the people in the workspace, from the chat. Remove gives the whole workspace one new key: the chat makes it, copies the writing, the plan, the notes and the chat into new documents and hands each remaining device the key in a sealed envelope (P26’s how-sheet has the details). Each tool opens its envelope and opens again on the new key where it was, and the workspace’s link takes the key. A tool still on the old key 20 seconds later is opened on the new one. Each device carries the text, tasks, notes and messages it added itself when it moves, so an edit made offline during the change reaches the others once; a deletion made offline during the change is not carried, and the removed person’s late edits are left behind. The removed person keeps what they had and reads nothing written after.
